Description:
Geneticin® is a selection agent commonly used for the selection of mammalian, plant, or yeast cells. It is an analog of neomycin sulfate which interferes with the function of 80S ribosomes and protein synthesis in eukaryotic cells. The Tn5 and Tn601 aminoglycoside phosphotransferase gene (neo) confers resistance. When evaluating G-418 products, consider more than just potency. Look at purity and working range.
